CANTERBURY NOTES. LIMERICK TO REST. [BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. F. D. Jonesi has arrived home from Sydney with Limerick and Zaragosa, who look in the, best of health after their Australian campaign. Limerick will now have a rest for a few weeks, after which Jones will.get him ready for another trip to Sydney to contest important events in the spring. Apsurance has been galloping well lately, and his winning turn may come soon. Battle Colours, looks an improved horse as a result of his racing at Easter, and he may land another stake before the end of this season. Rotor showed good form in hack races in the spring, after which he went off. He ran well each day of the Easter meeting at Riccarton and hi 3 track work since then has been particularly attractive. The three-year-old gelding, Satrap, who arrived home or. Saturday, has finished his racing for this season. He wound up well with two St. successes, and he should come back afteir a spell ready to do still better as a focir-year-old. Money Order returned from the North Island looking in excellent health. He has not raced up to expectations lately, but T. H. Gillett may keep him in useful work for some time yet. W. McDonald has Koauau looking in good health. The hurdle races at the South Canterbury meeting are not long enough to show the All Red gelding at his best, and probably he will make his next appearance at the Dunedin Jockey Club's meeting in June. The Viscount is to be kept going through the winter. The brother to Count Cavour has shown some promise lately, and he should be improved by a bit more racing. Thorndale has been sold by Messrs. J. G. Macdonald and B. B, Wood to Mr. A. J. Tutton, but he will remain in F. P. Claridge's stable, of which his new owner Ijas been a patron for some time past. Thorndale raced very consistently for Messrs. Macdonald and Wood. Winning will be more difficult now, as he is up in the weights, but he is such a solid customer that he cannot be ignored. He may, in fact, get some money this week at the South Canterbury meeting. SOUTH CANTERBURY CLUB. [BT telegraph.—own correspondent,] CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday. The South Canterbury Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting will be held to-morrow and on Saturday, when there should be some good sport. There is a lot of Southern support for King Balboa in the Timarn Cup, but Front Rank will keep him busy, as she is very well. Aberfeldy looks to be better class than his opponents in the hurdle race, while Rotor, Wild Work, Booster, Scoff, Honeycomb and Thorndale are other horses likely to be well backed.
