MOTOR-CAR OVER BANK.
VEHICLE FALLS FORTY FEET. OCCUPANTS' LUCKY ESCAPE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPdlsrS'O, Monday. An accident which might have had fatal results took place on the Meremere Hill yesterday. Mr. E. Fryer, of Gisborne, who had been to Waiotahi, was returning to Gisborne in his motor-car. accompanied by his wife and child and a woman with another child, when, in endeavouring to pas;; a motor-lorry, the car went over a bank, coming to rest after falling 40ft. Fortunately the passengers escaped with only severe bruises and shock. The car was extensively damaged. The motorists had to return to Opotiki for medical attention.
