OUTBREAKS OF FIRE.

FARMHOUSE DESTROYED. CONTENTS. A TOTAL LOSS. [BV TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU. Monday. Soon after leaving for Te Awamutu early on Saturday afternoon, Mr. W. H. Morris, manager of Messrs. Collins ' and Downes' Pirongia Road farm, was informed that the farmhouse of seven rooms was on fire. He and his sons hurried home, but the roof was then falling in. The building and contents were a total loss. The cause of the lire is not known. The house was insured for £750 in the South British Office, and the furniture for £IOO in the Norwich Union Office. HOUSE BURNED TO GROUND. NO WATER AVAILABLE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. A six-roomed house on Henwood Road was destroyed by fire about six o'clock this morning. No water was available and very little could be saved. The building, which was old, was quickly .demolished by the flames. It is not known how the fire originated. The building was burning fiercely when neighbours arrived to assist. The house was insured for £3OO in the Mercantile Office, and the furniture for £2OO in the Sun Office. SPORTS PAVILION LOST. STRUCTURE AT WHAKATANE. [BY TELEGRAFH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WHAKATANE, Monday. A fire occurred in the pavilion owned by the Whakatane Bowling and Tennis Clubs at 2.30 a.m. to-day. The flames had a good hold of the building and although the brigade, with a good pressure of water, subdued tho outbreak, the premises and contents were destroyed.

Both clubs had small insurances on the building and tho contents, but they will bo heavy losers. Many members had their bowls stored in the building, and most of these wero destroyed. None of the property belonging to private members was insured. The origin of the lire is not known.
