CONTESTS IN AUSTRALIA. A trio of American and Canadian wrestlers arrived by the Niagara yesterday en route to Australia to compete in championship matches. M. E. Yokel, who is making his third trip to Australia, intends to enter for the light-heavy-weight championship of the world next month in Sydney and Melbourne. He will also meet A. D. Santel in Melbourne.
T. Alley, of Salt Lake City, has won 75 out of 85 matches during the last eight years. Ha recently defeated Ira Dern, and proposes to meet E. Thye in Australia for the light-heavy-weight championship of the world.
R. J. McCarthy, of Canada, who is known as the "wrestling Irishman," defeated Chief Montour, an Indian wrestler, last month. He has won 60 matches out of 100 in the last 10 years. All three wrestlers express the hope that a tournament may be arranged in New Zealand before they return to America.
