RUGBY FOOTBALL.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. DONATION TO STACK FUND. DRAW FOR SATURDAY'S GAMES. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union met last evening, Mr. A. Belcher presiding. R. H. Martin, Grafton third grade, applied for a transfer to the Tramways Club. Mr. Tilly, on behalf of the Junior Management Board, accepted responsibility for the transfer as the player had a clearance from tho Grafton Club.
The College Eillcs Club applied for a transfer for K. Page from the North Shore Club. Ah a clearance had not been received from the latter club, it was decided to defer the transfer until such -was in order when the Emergency Committee would have power to act. On the motion of Mr. J. O'Brien it was decided to donate £2 2s to the Stack League Benefit Fund.
The following arrangements were made for Saturday's matches in the opening round of the senior A and B grade competitions :
Senior A Grade.—Ponsonby v. Gramm.ar Old Boys, Eden Park No. i, 3 p.m., Mr. F. E. Sutherland; University v. Grafton, Eden Park No. 2, 3 p.m., Mr. G. Peace; College Rifles v, Marist, Eden Park No. 8, 3 p.m., Mr. M. Kronfeld; Training College v. CiJ.y, Eden Park No. 3, 1.45 p.m., Mr. D. V. Moore; North Shore v. Manukau Rovers, North Shore, 3 p.m., Mr. J. Shepherd. Senior B_ Grade.—Marathon v. -Suburbs, Avondale No. 1, 3 p.m.. Mr. E. Dudson; Tramways v. Technical Old Boys, Victoria Park, 3 n.m., Mr. E. Pembertnn; Otahuhu v. University, Otahuhu, 3 p.m., Mr. P. Stubbing.
AUCKLAND REFEREES. A meeting of the Auckland Rugby Referees' Association was held last evening. Mr. M. Kronfeld presiding over an attendance of 44 members. Mr. J. A. Wakefield was appointed hon-or,-iry lecturer to tho Eden District Football Club. It was decided to nominate the King Country Rugby Referees' Association for membership to the New Zealand Rugby Referees' Association. Cnnfain Wales, Messrs. W. WaddelT, T. E. White. K. Liddle, W. Ripley. C. F. Stratford, and C. J. Havdn were appointed members, subject to their passing the usual oral examination. Mr. E. Rule was appointed to the position of outside member on the Referees' Appointment Board, subject to confirmation by the Auckland Rugby Union. TAURANGA UNION. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Monday. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Tauranga Rugby Union. The report showed that the union had a fairly successful season, especially in the junior competitions. The balance-sheet disclosed a small credit balance. It was rlacided that the weight limit in junior competitions be list 7lb. The election of officers resulted:—Patron, Mr. C. E. Macmillan, M.P.; president, Mr. F. Warner; vice-presidents, Messrs. T. Tanner, D. E. Woollamn, J. Tanner, H. j. liowe, G. S. Butler, H. E. J. Bongard, W. Armstrong and Dr. MacDiarmid; secretary and treasurer, Mr. P. Reweti; hon. surgeons. Drs. McDiarmid. Stuart and Sweet; auditor. Mr. C v Clinkard; Management Committee, Messrs. N. Day, G. Butler, J. Neal, T. McLeod, J. Kennedy, W. Armstrong, W. Denniston. At a meeting of the Management Committee the arrangements with the To Puke Union made by the delegates to Te Puke were confirmed. As a result a Te Puke team will be playing every other Saturday in Taurancra and vice versa. The senior and junior competitions will open on Saturday.
