SHOPKEEPERS' HOURS.
. • '•: •' •-j v r' ■ Sir,—l heartily agree with ".Shopkneper No. 3." It is high time the, Government stepped in and-closed every shop at eight o'clock at night and compelled everybody to close 011 Sunday. It- would do away with a lot of illegitimate trading, such as so-called tearooms, who never advertise the sale of cigarettes, hut do quite a big business by selling from under the counter. J ktiow several people who keep their shops open on Sunday, not because they want to, but because >they cannot afford to let their neighbours get the Sunday trade. Customers will patronise a shop week-days if they can be obliged on Sundays. I hope the time is not far off when there will be compulsory closing on Sunday for every shop. Another Shopkeeper.
