ROYAL OAK CASE.

ADMIRALTY BOARD MEETS.

SENTENCES ON OFFICERS. British "Wirelßiis. RUGBY, April 16. The Board of Admiralty met at the Admiralty to day to consider the Royal Oak case. It is understood that in addition to the official reports of the courtsmartial held at Gibraltar the board had before it the considered opinion of the Judge-Advocate of the fleet, Mr. Charles M. Pitman, v/ho has been examining the reports.

Among thoso present at the meeting were Mr. W. C. Bridgeman, First Lord of the Admiralty; the four Sea Lords, Sir C. E. Madden, First; Sir Michael 11. Hodges, Second; Sir A. E. M. Chatfield, Third; and Rear-Admiral W. W. Fisher, Fourth; Sir F. L. Field, DeputyChief of the Naval Staff; and Sir Oswyn A. R. Murray, Permanent Secretary to the Admiralty.

It is expected that Mr. Bridgemaa will make a ;full statement in the House of Commons to-morrow.

The Board of Admiralty has power to alter or quash tho sentences passed on Captain G. B. De>war and Commander R. M. Daniel, who were*severely reprimanded and ordered t,o be dismissed from their ships. The board meets only on occasions of extremo importance.
