SEQUEL TO FATALITY.
MOTORIST SENT FOR TRIAL.
WOMAN STRUCK BY CAR. [B¥ telegraph.—press association.] HAWERA, Friday. A plea of not guilty was entered by George Cravy Smith to a charge that while in a state of intoxication he drove a motor-car near Mokoia on February 24, causing the death of Mrs. Millicent Elizabeth Richttr, a farmer's wife, aged 42. The police alleged that Smith was drunk. A passenger in the car admitted that the car had struck a. woman, the time being 7.15 p.m. in broad daylight. Mrs. Richter was rendered unconscious and died in hospital the following night. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
