BUCK KILLED IN DOMAIN.
COURT IMPOSES PENALTY.
Guilty of taking a duck which he had killed from the pond in the Domain, Andrew E. Kelly, middle-aged, was fined 30s by Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday.
"After accused killed the duck he put it in a bag," said Sub-Inspector McCarthy. The Magistrate (to accused): What do you say to that ? Accused: I am guilty, but the duck was in misery and I killed it. The Magistrate: Odd coincidence, was it not, that the bag should be so handy ?
