FALL IN A MANHOLE.
DEATH OF 7A CARPENTER.
Medical evidence given at the inquest yesterday concerning the death of Watkin Henry Lloyd, aged 44, residing with his wife at 53, Third Avenue, Kingsland, who died on February 25, as a result of a fall, was that death was due to spinal concussion followed by haemorrhage.
. A carpenter by occupation, deceased had been, working at Luke's Road, Mount Eden, on tunnel construction for sewerage works and at the time was working a manhole about 24ft. deep. It is surmised deceased fell oft the ladder in the I manhole. Workmates found him lying at I the bottom of the tunnel. The coroner, Mr, F. K. Hunt, S.M., returned a verdict of accidental deith.
