MOTOR TRAFFIC CONTROL.
PROBLEM AT HAMILTON.
[BY telegraph.—own correspondent.]
HAMILTON. Thursday.
The question of motor traffic in Hamilton was brought up at to-day's meeting of the Borough Council by Mr. J. Gilbert* He said traffic was rapidly increasing, and the position was becoming acute. H« thought the angle parking of cars would largely solve the traffic problem in Victoria Street. He moved that motorists be.permitted to park their cars at an angle of not less than 37£ degrees in Victoria Street for three months.
The Mayor said he would advise motorists to "let sleeping dogs Lie." The public had been frequently warned by the police and by magistrates that too much liberty was given to motorists in Victoria Street. He thought the council should be very wary before further narrowing the highway. It was decided to take no action.
