[INTERHOUSE SPORTS GIRLS.
NEXT WEDNESDAY'S ATTRACTION
'A great spectacular searchlight display iof gymnastics and physical drill will be given by the interhouse sports-girls in the Auckland Domain cricket ground nest ("Wednesday evening. The proceeds are to be devoted to the Mayor's unemployment relief fund.
The girls are taking a' very keen interest and are at present engaged in active training under Lieutenant Laffcy, who had charge of the military pageant. Employers of all soft goods houses in the city are allowing employees participating time off on'several afternoons each week for the purpose of training. Special attention ia being devoted to the grand march and assembly. This will be one of the principal features of the display and will demonstrate what girls can achieve in the way of massed effects and colourful harmony. The- Girls' Brigade, With their jaunty little pill-box hats and natty- uniforms, will-provide a spectacular production that is sure to win the appreciation of spectators. As an event on such a colossal scale cannot be repeated those who are interested should see that thoy keep next. Wednesday evening free. Thirteen houses will be represented, and altogether about 400 girls will take part. The ose of searchlights will heighten the effeet and musie will be played by the Municipal Band. All the .proceeds will be placed at the disposal of the Mayor's unemployment relief fund, and this will be subject to a subsidy of £1 for £1 from the Government. Every Is ticket purchased, with the addition of the subsidy, ■will provide an hour's work for those who need it.
