By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received March 8, 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON, March 8. The story of an Englishwoman's sensational and secret attempt to fly across tho Atlantic from east to west has been disclosed in the Daily Express. The Hon. Elsie Mackay, third daughter of Viscount Inchcape, the shipping magnate, purposes starting at noon to-day from the Cranwell aerodrome in Lincolnshire, with Captain Hinehcliffe as pilot, in a machine named' " Adventure," which was brought especially from America. The plane has a cruising speed of 90 miles an hour. A course will be laid straight for the west coast of Ireland and from there to Newfoundland.
Secret preparations for the flight have been in progress for some months. Extra petrol tanks have been installed in the wings of the machine and more is to be carried in aluminium tins.
