NGAURUHOE STILL ACTIVE.
ALMOST INCESSANT NOISE.
[BS TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL REPORTER.] NATIONAL PARK. Thursday. The activity of Ngauruhoe continues, explosive eruptions taking place at about mid day to-day. The rumble is practically incessant and last night three flashes occurred just after dark. It is not known whether their origin was the volcano. A party spent some time at the actual base above Tama Lake yesterday afternoon and deep rumbles rose and fell constantly. On one occasion two volumes of steam were observed above the crate*, suggesting the theory of a second vent having opened, but the cause may be air currents.
