Vincent last evening:—Fair to cloudy weather is indicated, although unsettled at times, with scattered thunder showers, particularly in Waikato districts and coastal areas. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—A shallow, cir cular depression is situated over the North Island and a slight low-pressure wave is moving across the south Tasman Sea. Indications are for easterly to southeasterly winds, moderate generally, but fresh at times on the east coast south of East Cape and in the Cook Strait region, later backing to northerly. Seas rather rough 011 the east coast, elsewhere generally moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate southerlies to easterlies and moderate seas in the northern Tasman Sea; moderate fresh easterly to northerly winds in central and southern Tasman Sea, with rising seas. Weather still generally dull and misty, with scattered rain, more especially in the east coast districts, but improving temporarily. RAINFALL RECORD.
