OTAHUHU EX-SOLDIERS' CLUB
The quarterly meeting of tho Otahuhu Returned Soldiers' Club was presided over by ih a president, the Rev. C. B. W. Seton. The secretary reported that during the past quarter six cases of distiess had beon investigated and relief afforded in each case. 'The annual picnic held at Wliyte's Beach, Mangere, was well attended. The membership was now 125, an increase of 15. A booklet with the names of various tradesmen in the borough who wore prepared to grant a discount to members on all purchases made met with approval. It was decided to purchase for Poppy Day 2000 poppies to do sold at Is each and 200 at 2s 6d each, tho districts to be Papatoetoo and Otahuhu. It was decided to hold the annual smoke social on April 21. In connection with the Anzac Day services and the unveiling of the new war memorial, it was decided to parade and to work in conjunction with the Otahuhu Borough Council's arrangements.
