?' I now realiso that my life will be a scries of short sentences if I do not pay up," said William Henry Ashmore, in Reading guilty ip tho Police Court yesterday to default in a maintenance order in respect to his ■wife.
It was stated accused had been obstinate. in the i pasty and had. elected to go to prison rather than keep up payments. -Accused said ,3m thought hp could comply the order and pay 5s a week off the arrears. j Jlr. ■ The Magistrate (ihabiously): I have heard it said so.
■'-> Accused said he now realised the folly of defaulting with payments under the order.
..The magistrate ordered accused to keep i}p with the order and pay 5s a week m reduction of the arrears. Default was fixed 'at six months' imprisonment.
