KAITAIA SWAMP DRAINAGE.
RATEPAYERS DISSATISFIED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J KAITAIA, Thursday. Dissatisfaction with regard to the Kaitaia Swamp drainage was expressed by a deputation from the Kaitaia Ratepayers' Association to the Minister of Health, Hon. J. A. Young, this evening. It was stated that wheir fchp Government had taken over the scheme the settlers understood it would be completed before the rate was struck. Now the settlers were faced with the payment of a double rate. There was anomaly in striking the rate, it being excessive in some cases and out of proportion to tha benefits received. The Minister said li<3 would convey the representations to the Minitser of Lands.
