OLD FOLKS' GATHERING.
REUNION AT BIRKENHEAD.
The annual reunion of the old people of the Birkenhead, Northcote, Birkdale and Glenfield districts was held on Saturday afternoon. The service in tha Birkenhead Methodist Church, which was largely attended by residents 60 years of age and upwards, was bright and hearty. Favourite old hymns were sung, and an appropriate address was given by Mr. C. H. Poole. Afternoon tea was served in the Lioo Hill Hall, where the old people were also entertained with a musical and ® tt tionary programme. The Rev. J. , Allen, who presided, spoke of four o identities who had passed away dun 0 the year. The oldest lady present Mrs. Watson, aged 89, and the oWe& man the Be v. J. D. .Tory, each of w was handed a bouquet on benal. gathering by Mr. A. Hadfiald, Mayor of Birkenhead. - \
