MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.
With the idea _of obtaining impressions and direct knowledge of the, conditions under which settlers in the lonely backblocks areas of the Waikato and Waitcmo electorates are labouring, the G f Lands, Hon. A. D. McLeod, and the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. O. J. Haw. 'ken, are on a tour of inspection.. They left Te Kuiti on Saturday and went to the outlying settlements by motor-car, covering 150 miles. Deputations were received at many of the townships, and the conditions of the fanners were discussed. Yesterday the party travelled to Rawhia, whence they will go into the Northern Waikato to-day. Representations will be made to the Ministers and inspections will be made of the sand dunes acquisition and reclamation at Kawhia. To-morrow morning the visitors will continue the tour by proceeding over the hills on horseback, and will leave for Hamilton in the evening. Accompanying the party is Mr. J. C. Rolleston. M.P. for Waitomo, and Mr. Stewart Reid, M.P. for Waikato.
