Mr., and Mrs. Arthur Willis and Miss Joan Willis, of Kent, England, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. H. Reid, Mr. F. Iteid and Mr. A. R. Small, of Opotiki, and Mr. W. Galliant, of Rotorua, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. H. Li? Silbeid, Mr. A. Blackmote and Mr. E. Close, of Wellington, and Ivir. A. H. Robinson, of Nelson, are 'at the Central Hotel. Canons F„ G. Harvie, of Hamilton, and E. H. Strong, of New Plymouth, have resigned their appointments as examining chaplains to the Bishop of Waikato. Mr. L. H. Jenkins, of Sydney, Mr. E. M. Brodie, of Wellington, Mr. H. Heimann, of Hastings, and Mr. J. A. Mitchell, of Longburn, are at the Hotel Cargen. Dr. L. Clapp and Mr. W. St. Clair arrived at Anckland yesterday by the steamer Wonganella from Nauru Island, of which Dr. Clapp is resident medical officer. Mr. S. D. Neill, French Consular-Agent at Dunedin, who has been attending the merchants' conference in Auckland, left for the South by the limited express last evening. Mr. A. D. Cook and Mr. A. G. Copeland, of Sydney, Mr. L. Horsley and Mr, H. E. Kiiby, of Wellington, Mr. D. F, Glanville, of Christchurch, and Mr. A. G. Bignell, of Wangartui, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. L. W. Atkinson, Mr. ?• Hay, Mr. A. Gittmgs, and Mr. M. J. Kilmartin, of Wellington, Mr. G. Thorburn, Mr. W. Dimock, Mr. I. Boncher and Mr. Wyborn, of Palmerston North, and Mr. J. B. Luff, of Dunedin, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. W. B. McDveney, Commissioner of Police, who has been visiting Auck* land, will leave this morning for Hamilton, Taupo and Napier. He will visit police stations en route, and return to Wellington on Thursday.
