HEAVY-WEIGHT BOXING.
OPPONENT FOR TUNNEY. DEMPSEY NOT CONSIDERED. (Received February 1. 7 - 2r > P-m.) A. nnd N.Z. NEW YORK, .Tan. 31. A message from Miami, Florida, says the boxing promoter, Mr. Tex Rickard, confirms the rumours that 'Jack Dcmpsey has been dropped from further consideration for another match against Gene Tunnev, the present heavy-weight champion. Dempsey probably would never fight again. It is understood the injury to an eye and the heavy punishment he received in the last two contests with Tunney are responsible for this.
