The Waihi Boxing Association's second tournament of the season was held in the Academy Theatre last evening, before a fairly large audience*. Te Aroha again challenged Waihi, the holders, for the Tanner Shield, but failed to lif'i the trophy. A feature of the evening was m no-decision exhibition of six two-minute rounds between J. Broadfoot, middle-miight professional champion, and Mac Loan, middleweight cadet champion, Auijkluid. Although only an exhibition bcut, both boxers made the bout willing and while Broadfoot wa.s superior, Maclr»an created a favourable impression. Results were:— McConnell (Waihi). 7.6. tested Harrison (Waihi), 8.0; Prent-er _ (Ti Aroha). 8.12, was awarded the decssion against Moralee (Waihi). 8.8. in the third round, on tlie grou:ad that the waihi boy was using the "shamrock" punch; Ryall (Waihi). 8.0, and Stewart (Te Aroha), 8.10 drew; N. Broadfoot (Waihi), 9.4, defeated Humbleton (Huntly), 9.6. the latter throwiiig in the towel m the third refold; Pitcher (Waihi). 11.2, defeated Tioniey (Te Arolia). 11.2; H.
