MANUKAU CRUISING CLUB. RACES TO CORNWALLIS. The Manukau Cruising Club held cruising: races for yachts and launches to Cornwallis on Monday. Nine yachts were sent away, the Sylvia assuming the lead, which she maintained to the Horn, where the Aotna passed her. The breeze from the south-west had freshened and some good sailing was seen. The order passing the beacon was: Aoma, Sylvia, Champagne. Sea Horse, Sea Gnome, Waiapu, Mystery, with the Anabera, which lowered away and put a tuck in, & long way astern, and the Maidie, which had a collision at the start, still further behind. The finishing times were:—Roma (sm), 5h 29m t>3; Sylvia Mm), 5h 36m 3.55; Champagne (6m) 5h 38m; Sea Horse (8m), 51i 43m 555; \Vaiapu (95m), 5h 44m 12s; Sea Gnome <l2), ah 55m 40s; Mystery, 5h 56m ss. Anabera and Maidie were well behind. Corrected times placed Aoma first. Champagne second, and Sylvia third. The launches, eight in number, were sent a\y ii-y ft' 3.15 p.m. Sea Wolf soon took the iead, followed by Kegal, Katui, Cremorne. Hinemoa. Success Salome and Wanderer. A good sea running down the harbour, which placed the smaller boats at a disadvantage and the finish wao timed as follows: Sea Wolf (10m), 4h 17m; I> efr iiL < 27 «}), 3 "m 20s; Hinemoa (30m). 4h 37m los; Katui (30m), 4h 45m 235; Wanderer (31m). 4h 47m 455; Cremorne (45m), 5h _m 58s. _ Salome and Success did not cross the finishing line.
