MUNICIPAL CHAMBERS.
MOUNT ROSKILL PROPOSALS. At a meeting of the Mount Roskill Road Board last evening the chairman, Mr. E. F. Jones, presented a report of a special committee appointed to consider plans of the proposed municipal chambers. Mr. D. B. Patterson, architect, explained the plans prepared by him. The building will cost about £6500, or £4BOO if without a hall. It will be necessary to seek the consent of the ratepayers to the raising of a special loan for the extra amount involved for the hall. The committee recommendeid that the board should apply to the Lrcal Government Loans Board for authority to use the remaining balance of the quarry loan for building a municipal hall and chambers and that sanction be sought to raise by loan the further sum of £I7OO. In the event of sanction being obtained, the proposal should be presented to the ratepayers for their approval. The matter will be further considered when the architect furnishes plans and specifications in detail.
