FOUND WITH THROAT CUT.
SUICIDE OF A WOMAN. A VICTIM OF ILL-HEALTH. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The body of Sarah Emma Francis, aged 47, was found in a pool of blood on the floor of a room in her house in Cranford Street late yesterday afternoon. She had committed suicide by cutting her throat with a razor, which she still had in her grasp when found. An inquest was held last evening by the coroner, Mr. E. D, Mosley, when the evidence disclosed that deceased, who resided with her husband and family, had been suffering from ill-health for some time. She had recently returned from a holiday and she appeared to have improved considerably. Looking through a window on his return home in the afternoon one of her sons saw her lying in a pool of blood. The coroner returned a verdict that deceased had committed suicide while suffering from extreme mental depression, brought about by a nervous breakdown.
