Campbell had no horses racing this week, but he has gone South with Battle Colours and Moorland, who are engaged at Wyndham and Invcrcargill next week. Battle Colours, is a much improved horse who will be hard to beat. The two-yea;c-old Silver Paper is bowling along freely • in useful tasks an the Riccarton tracks. He had no holiday engagements but ho may be sent to Trentham next month. ' G. Murray Aynsley is keeping his home team going in strong work as some of them will bet required for early racing. Scoff may be raced at Ashburton while Starflight is a possibility for a trip to Trentham. The imported Korse Honeycomb in W. G. Hobbs' stable was gelded a few weeks ago. Ho has resumed work and may be given a race at Ashburton. next month. H. Ellis gave Margaret Birney a spell after racing her at South Canterbury a few weeks ago. He has her in commission again and she may bo racing at Ashburton. With only three horses racing in Auckland during the holidays Cults Bros, have a big team at home. The horses are being kept busy and some of them may be nominated for the Wellingfon Racing Club's meeting. While G. J. Pine is absent in Auckland with Paper Boy and Don Jose' F. Hill has the other members of the team doing useful work on the aome tracks. Silver Coot and Fair Exchange will be racing at Ashburton while engagements may bo made at Trentham for this pair and the two-year-old Noteworthy; In the absence of F. Christmas at Auckland, where he has Martarma racing, his home team is under tho care of George Reed. Economist, a recent addition to the stable, is getting through useful tasks. A three-year-old Warplane gelding is also working well. His dam is a sister to Nobleman, a Sir Laddo gelding, who was a useful performer in his day. The Sarton mare Benshee, who went lame last week, will need a long spell. Haze has rejoined R. J. Mason's toarn after a spell. Ho is a much improved gelding in appearance, but has a doubtful looking leg and may not stand a severe preparation. Charlatan had the misfortune to get into a wire fence a few days ago and he ia suffering from some scratches on his legs. FORTHCOMING MEETINGS. TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB. Nominations for all events to be run at the Takapuna Jockey Club's Summer Meeting close next Friday, at 5 p.m., with the secretary, Mr. F. D. McVay. NG ARUAWAHIA RACING CLUB. The Ngaruawahia Racing Club will hold { its annual race meeting on Saturday, January 21. Nominations for all events close with the secretary, Mr. A. B. Jones, Ngaruawahia, next Friday, January 6, at 5 p.m.
