THE SWIM OF FASHION.

This year's bathing equipment shows a surprising number of novelties, chief among them being the ensemble, says a fashion expert. This is a far less extravagant matter than it sounds for, though one rarely requires moro than one wrap, pair of shoes and cap, two suits are often required (for nothing is more unpleasant than putting on a still damp maillot), and it is easy to choose two which will assort equally well with the wrap and shoes. These accessories have become essential items since we no longer rush hastily out of the sea into our cabins or tents, but prefer to spend several hours lounging about the beach and enjoying the freedom of our bathing attire.' Loose coats, with or without sleeves, and capes are equally popular, but nearly all of them are carried out in Terry cloth, which can now be obtained in a wide range of colours and designs. Some more elaborate wraps are of striped or plaid silk, lined with towelling. Thin stockinette and woollen or -Silk jersey are the most popular materials this season and are by far the most practical and comfortable ;of mediums uj which to fashion a bathing suit, and some of the newest costumes are composed of a pair of pants of plain colour with a multi-colour striped jumper which goes on over the pants and is held ia place by a belt around the hips._ Another flovelty, this time from America, consists of a pair of red or blue flannel pants held by a white petersham belt and. a top of white wool, resembling a- boy>«s running shirt. This is often accoropanicd by a short flannel coat of tu® same colour as the pants.
