POLICE COURT NEWS.
CHARGE OF ASSAULT. Pleading guilty in the Police Court yesterday to a charge of assaulting Joseph Barlow on Wednesday, Henry Reid, aged 27, labourer, said they had started to " smack "at eaclj other. " Well, do not go smacking anything else about over the holidays," said the magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, in fining accused £4. Two "labourers, John- Duncan, aged 4/, and Augustus Boulton, aged 39, were fined £3 and £1 respectively for being disorderly while drunk iD Karangahapo Road on Wednesday. " They were rolling all over the street when 1 came along," said the arresting sergeant.
