TROTTING AT EPSOM. SUMMER CUP, TO PETERWAH. CHAMPION HANDICAP CONTEST. JEWEL POINTER'S BRILLIANT WIN. Tlio Auckland Trotting Club's Summer Meeting- was continued at Alexandra Park yesterday in dull, showery weather. In spite of the rain there was a good Attendance. On account of tho wet morning it was decided to start the first race half an hour later than the advertised time and ih was 6.25 p.m. before the last event was run. The track was slow and cut np a good deal toward the end of the day. Considering the stale of tho going the racing was very interesting and most of the winners were well supported. The trotter Peterwah scored a splendid win over the pacers in the Summer Cup, being in front, over tho last mile and a-quarter and outstaying tho opposition at the finish. Jewel Pointer scored a brilliant victory in the Champion Handicap, beating a select field of sprinters in fine style. The totalisator handled £50,460, compared with £59,547 on the corresponding day last year—a decrease of £9087. For the two days of the meeting the investments amount to £138,096 10s, which is an increase of £.3201 over the investments for the first two days last year. DETAILS OF THE RACING.
