HEAVY SHEEP LOSSES.
RESULT OF bAD WEATHER. BATHURST DISTRICT SUFFERS. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Deo 1 The heaviest mortality among stock ever known has been experienced as *i result of the recent heavy rain and exceptionally cold weather in the iiathurst district. Shearing had just closed, and the newly-shorn sheep were subjected to extreme privations, heavy losses being suffered in many flocks. Individual losses by graziers in several cases ranged from £2OOO to £4OOO. One grazier says the ground was white with dead sheep.
