The Feilding meeting was concluded today. Several showers of rain fell to-day, but did not adversely affect the track, the racing, the attendance or the speculation at the Feilding meeting. A feature of the day was that there -were four brackets on the totalisator and they provided three firsts and one second. In the Cheltenham Hurdles, -Pouri, Star Area, Brigadier Bill. Troilua and Elysianor were well backed. Elysianor took charge after the first fence and led down the straight from Bright Day. Panchito. Star Area, Brigadier Bil 1 and Braeman, with j Pouri last. B right' Day crashed into the Btand hurdle and Star Area jumped badly. Mister Gamp led down the back with Pouri moving up. Pouri, ' Elysianor and Mister Gamp were the first to turn for home and jumped the last fence on terms. Pouri, Tinder punishment, - came on to win by a length. There was a great battle for second place. Brigadier Bill getting up in the last stride to beat Elysianor by a nose, with Mister Gamp a head away foirth. Ijlevel. Braeman and Star Area finished in that order. Pouri was much better ridden than on the first day. Star Area jumped badly and was not. well ridden. In the> Novice Stakes Warfille and Le Champ both carried plenty of support, with Plane and Whisogne both beter backed than tho Courageous—Spearmiss bracket. Le Champ, Warfille and Royal Picture led to the turn from Card Trick, Plane and Courageous Royal Picture turned for home well clear from Le Champ and Card Trick, with Plane and Courageous moving up. Plane ran into the lead 50yds. from the ppst. but Courageous finished on too well and beat him by a head. Card Trick was two lengths away third and Whisogne. Royal Picture and Le Champ were next. Courageous won really we'l vindicating his first day's form. Le Champ Card Trick and Warfille V.ill all be improved by the race. In tho St. Andrew's Handicap Wander lust was favourite, but it was a good bolting race. Paitonu led down the back from Joy Bird. Wanderlust Bonogne and Lady Anstruther, with Queen's Choice and Vivo last Euphonium took the lead a furlong from home, but Wanderlust huns on and Kilmisa made ber appearance wide ori the outside. Kilmisa went on to win by half a length from Euphonium, who beat Wander lust by a head. Paitonu was fourth, and Qreen's Choice fifh. Then came Waicullus arid Novdr. , Kilmiss, well ridden, scored in good stylo and it looked as if Wanderlust should have beaten Euphonium. Queen's Choice should win soon. In the Oroura Nursery Handicap. Koyai Duk«? waa alwuyu favourite, but there was plenty of support for the Episode-Curtain • bracket and a little for Te Atiawa. Charmaline's rider, Dunn, was injured prior to the race ynd tho -.start was delayed >, while , W. H. Jones was substituted for him. Episode began best and strode away in the straight to win by two lengths from Ta Atiawn, who beat Select by a head. Royal Duke was fourth and then came Charmaline and Miss Gow rie. The y/inner is a fine big filly destined next for the Foal Stakes at Ellerslie. She was a classr above the field to-day. Select is a good filly. In the Nikau Hack Handicap Vast Aero 4nd Expense were the only ones supported »llh any spirit. The Raider being at a long »*ice. Vast Acre "us smartest away but Raidey topb charge at tho end of a wrioEg and led round to the turn from

Vast Aero, Powhiri, Royal Time, Expense and Miss Mercia, witli Lucky Days coming round after losing ground. The l Raider led as they turned for home and won by a length from Lucky Days, who finished fast. Vast Aero was two lengths away third, Powhiri fourth and in line Katorangi and Expense wero nest. The Raider jumped away smartly from No. 16 position and won pulling up. The weight settled Vast Acre and Expense failed miserably. Lucky Days was unlucky in the running. In the Colyton Handicap Silvermine was a very hot favourite, with Arrow Lad much better supported than Liciniuß. Silvermine! and Arrow Lad together showed the way to the turn from Licinius, Mireusonta and Deluge. Licinius tried to come up between Silvermine and Arrow Lad a furlong from home, but fell, and Silvermine went on to beat Arrow Lad by a head Deluge was two lengths away third, with Mireusonta fourth, iust ahead of Whenuanui. Licinius would have won but for meeting trouble. In the Rongotea Hack Handicap Oratrix and Henna were the favourites with Limosa at a lucrative price. Going down the back Sovena, Irish Lad and Hymgreat led Tanagra. Henna, Volplane and Limosa. Limosa took charge a furlong from home and had Henna beaten when Thurnbell dashed across the field. If he had come straight homo he might have won, but as it waß Limosa beat him by a length. Henna was a head away third, with Volplano fourth and Archon, Boy and Oratris next. Limosa won in good style but Thurnbell was unlucky. Volplano and Archon are likely improvers. In the Empire Handicap Dukp Abbey was backed down to a very short price with Ruanui and Epistle the only others backed Ruanui and Polphemus led down the back from Epistle and Duke Abbey with Orazone and Bright Knight next: Racing for the turn Polyphemus and Ruanui were well clear from Episode, Duke Abbey and Partaga. Ruanui came away in the run in to win by a length and a half from Partaga, who came fast to beat Orazone by a length Duke Abbey was right up fourth and then came Epistle, Polyphemus and Glen Innis. Ruanui won just as well as on the first day. Partaga and Orazone will be improved by their racing. Duke Abbey looked a trifle big.
