FATAL FIRE IN TENT.

DEATH OF WOOL CLASSER. BODY FOUND ON MATTRESS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] BLENHEIM, Wednesday. The body of Mr. Daniel George Moore, vvoolclasser, aged 72, was found early this morning among the smouldering remains of the tent in which he had been sleeping at Mr. F. W. Hille's Riverlands property. The body was on the mattress upon which Mr. Moore had been sleeping. Mr. Moore, who was a well-known Blenheim resident, had been engaged at the station during shearing operations. As there was a halt in the shearing yesterday as a result of the previous day's rain, Mr. Moora speit the day at his homo in Blenheim. He returned to Riverlands lar.t night and retired to bed a little after 10 o'clock. He occupied a small neut which he had erected immediately a 1; the rear of the cookhouse. No one noticed the fire and it was not until 4.45 this morning, when Mrs. Hille's attention was directed to the smouldering ruins, that the tragedy was discovered. Although the body was considerably scorched it was not badly burned and it is evident that Mr. Moore died either from suffocation or heart failure. It is stated that on Monday he complained of feeling unwell and dizzy, but at his home yesterday he was bright and cheerful, fie was a man of fine character and was held in the highest esteem
