HERD-TESTING RETURNS.

AVERAGES FOR OCTOBER. CLEVEDON GROUP'S SUCCESS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday The October averages of the New Zea land Co-operative Herd-Testing Association show that the average yield by the 61,568 cows tested in the association's territory during the month was 9111b milk, with a 3.9 test, and 36.051b. fat. Last year 49,535 cows were tested in October, and the averages were 9301b. milk, 3.9 test and 36.581b. fat. The associa--3.9 test and 36.581b fat. The association is this season taking records for the full thirty-day period, and, whereas only a year ago ths averages were only for normal cows in each herd, this season the averages represent the production of all cows in milk. The herd with the highest average of butter-fat daring October was in the Clevedon group. The figures were 60 sllb. per cow, but the herd only comprised 15 cows.
