NOVEMBER RAINFALL.

WELL BELOW THE AVERAGE. SECOND DRIEST MONTH OF YEAR. The rainfall in Auckland during November was considerably below the average. Up to 9 o'clock yesterday morning the rainfall, according to records taken in Albert Park by the Government observer, Captain D. McLeay, was only 1.57 in., the average rainfall for November being 3.2 in. Slight showers which fell in tho city area yesterday will not materially increase the total for the month. The rainfall for the eleven months of the current year totals 52.08 in., substantially exceeding tho yearly average of 43.88 in. This is accounted for by the consistently wet weather experienced during the winter months. Although the rainfall for the last two months has been below the average, the countryside is still looking well, but farmers would welcome more rain, as the warmer weather tends to dry up the pastures. The following table shows the rainfall for the first 11 months of this year, compared with that in corresponding periods of previous years:—
