BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.
OLD CAMBRIDGE RESIDENT. OVER 60 YEARS IN WAIKATO. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT] CAMBRIDGE. Tuesday. One of the oldest residents of Cambridge. Mr. George E. Clark, sen., cele brated his 87th birthday yesterday, and received numerous congratulations. Mr. Clark is one of the best-known residents of the Waikato and came to New Zealand 63 years ago. For the past 60 years lie has resided in Cambridge, where he Has been closely eonnnected with the do velopment of the district. He is a remarkable man in many ways, and in spite of his advanced years is keen and active. He attends his office every day and personally controls the extensive business of Messrs. Geo. E. Clark and Sons, merchants. Mr. Clark is a keen and expert, bowler and recognised as the fat,her of the Cambridge Club. At the pavilion on Saturday local bowlers presented Mr. Clark with an illuminated bedside clock.
