WEDDINGS.
Tho Holy Trinity Church, Suva, was the scene of a pretty wedding on November 9, when Miss Bobbie Douglas, only daughter of Mrs. L. Dacre, of Home Bay, and the late Mr. R. R. Douglas, of Suva, Fiji, was married to Mr. Arthur Joseph Dixon, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Dixon, of Auckland. Archdeacon Hands performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her mother, wore a frock of white georgette and silver lace, caught at tho waist with two shell pink roses. The Brussels veil formed a long train and was lavishly trimmed with orange blossom, the headdress being a coronet of blossoms. She carried a lovely shower bouquet of paie pink and white rosebuds, from which hung streamers of tulle to tone. Miss Sylvia Douglas, cousin of the bride, was chief bridesmaid, and wore a gown of shell pink georgette and silver lace, her head-dress heing a bandeau of silver tissue and shell pink flowers. A bouquet of pale pink and silver was carried. Miss Eraine Douglas, also a cousin of the bride, was second bridesmaid, and wore a frock to correspond with that of the chief bridesmaid. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Tayler, of the Pacific Cable Board, Suva. A wedding was solemnised at the Royal Chapel, Nukualofa, Tonga, on Saturday, October 29, 1927, when Miss Charlotte Elizabeth Cocker, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Cocker, of Nukualofa, was married to Mr. John Trotter, eldest son of Mrs. J. Trotter, of Sydney, New South Wales. The service, which was fully choral, was Conducted by the Rev. Roger G. Page, chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen of Tonga. The bridesmaids were the Misses Mary, Ivy and Ruby Cocker, Bisters of the bride, and the best man was Mr. Arthur G. Slocombe. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty frock of white georgette, embroidered in silver over dehcate pink. The court train of white georgette with silver embroidery was lined with pale pink georgette. A tulle veil was caught with a coronet of orange blossom and tho brido canned a sheaf of St. Joseph lilies. The bridesmaids wore pale blue, lavonder. and pink satin beaute, respectively. and full skirts caught here and there with hand-made roses. The hems of the skirts were of silver lace. Bandeaux of hand-made flowers, matching the frocks. we.re worn, and bouquets, also to tone with the frocks, wore carried.
