Chinchilla rabbit breeding is an industry which a large number of women in England have taken up, with satisfactory financial results, owing to the increasing demand for the pelts now that tho Chinchilla rat, which the pelt oi the Chinchilla rabbit so closely resembles, is almost extinct. As a Chinchilla rabbit coat costs about £SO, there are numerous bad imitations on the market, made by dyeing white rabbits. It is also pointed out that the Argente de Champagne, the Havana and the Beveren, which may bi either blue or white, are breeds quite distinct from the Chinchilla. But the great fact about all four breeds is that their pelts, when made up into coats, need no dyeing.
