FILMS IN AUSTRALIA.
SUGGESTION OF BRIBERY. PROFESSOR TAKEN TO TASK. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Nov. 29. Before tho Films Commission, Mr. George Black, a member 01 the Legislative Council, and a former film censor, took strong exception to the statement made by Mr. R. S. Wallace, Professor of English Language and Literature in Melbourne University, that tho palms of consols had been greased. He characterised tho statement as a vile insinuation, such as would be expected from a vulgar gossip hanging over a backyard fence. Tho statement had reflected seriously on the characters of two honest., upright men, and coming from a university professor it was surprising. Mr. Black said ho could declare positively that not only were tho censoiß riot bribed, but they had never been approached.
