COMMONWEALTH SENATE. LABOUR MEMBER'S SPEECH. (Received November 30, 12.15 a.m.) A. and N.Z. CANBERRA. Nov. 2!). in the Senate Mr. J. E. Ogden, a Labour member for Tasmania, moved the adjournment in order to call attention to tho watersidors' strike. In condemning tho attitude of tho men, ho said tho union should be forced to comply with the awards. Tho Federal Government should oxer ciso ovory power it possessed to meet force with forco and make the men obey (lie law. lie asked whether a few men wore to bo allowed to bring industrial depression and hardship upon tho community. If ho had tho power, ho would, he said, deregistor them and remove thern from the protection of tho Court.
