TIME FOR CONSIDERATION. REQUEST FOR EXTENSION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] NELSON, Tuesday. The Mayor of Nelson, Mr. \V. J. Moffatt, as president of the Municipal Association of New Zealand, sent tho following communication to the Prime Minister concerning the proposed motor regulations: " Time allowed for consideration of motor regulations is altogether inadequate, and I 'request that time lie extended to allow Municipal Association's executive to deliberate fully thereon at its meeting on December 14. I suggest the use of mads is so affected by provisions of tho Muncipal Corporations Act, Public Works,' Police Offences, Stock and Impounding and other Acts dealing with traffic that a comprehensive traffic Act is required to consolidate the provisions of all those Acts and other Acts affecting all classes of traffic, including pedestrian." The Prime Minister replied that the representations had been forwarded for consideration by the Minister of Public Works. Mr. Moffatt states that the Government had asked that recommendations of local bodies be forwarded by December 1 in order that the regulations could be gazetted on December 7. The view of the Municipal Association was that it was impossible for tho Government to go through all recommendations before December 7. INCOKFORATICN IN BY-LAWS. DECISION AT LOWER HUTT.
