HEAVY RAIN AT WANGANUI.
BLEAK, WINTRY CONDITIONS. [BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WANGANUI, Monday The weather took a sudden turn for the worse last evening and heavy ram has fallen ever since Rivers and subsidiary streams rose quickly with the sudden delugo and low-lying country was under water all day. Rain is still falling this evening, and conditions are more like the middle of winter than early summer.
