CAR FALLS INTO RIVER.

ALL OCCUPANTS INJURED. ILL-FATED WEEKEND TRIP. , [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAUMARUNUI. Saturday. A motor-car accident occurred this morning near Ongarue. Mr. and Mrs. J. Jones and two children and Mr. and Mrs. N. Christianson and a young child were proceeding on a week-end trip to Tokaanu in a car. When near the Ongarus township) where the ro.ad overlooks the river, the car went over the bank into the river below. The car was badly damaged and all the occupants received injuries. Mr. Christianson and one of Mr. Jones' children were rendered unconscious for a time Mr. Jones received a cut over one eye. Mrs. Christianson sprained an ankle and received bruises, while Mr. Christianson had _ lacerations on one leg and received severe bruises on the body. The two children of Mr. and Mrs. Jones were both badly hurt about the body.. Dr. E. Vivian was summoned and attended to the sufferers at their homes at Ongarue.
