CHARGES OF DRUNKENNESS. MAORI ASSAULTS WOMAN. Charges of being found drunk on Friday, of procuring liquor while prohibited, and of entering licensed premises during tho currency of his prohibition order were admitted by Patrick Sinnott, aged 62, labourer, in the Police Court on Saturday. On the first charge accused was fined £2, on the second £5, and on tho last count he was convicted and discharged. Charged with stealing from the house of Frederick Slater, Albion Street, two frocks and a gold ring valued at £io ss, William Robert Curson, aged 25, carpenter, was remanded to appear on Thursday. Joseph Sydney Green, aged 44, labourer, charged with drunkenness in Customs Street, was fined 10s. He was also fined £1 /or breach of his prohibition order. "Eight breaches of his order are recorded against this man," said the prosecuting senior sergeant, of Maurice O'Neill, charged with entering licensed premises while prohibited, and with procuring liquor during the currency of his prohibition order. For the first offence he was fined £5, and on the second he was convicted and discharged. A plea of guilty was entered by Mita Paraone, a young Maori, who was charged with assaulting Sarah T. Brown.
