Referring to the proposal of the City Council , to take a referendum of the people on the question of tho abilition of the council,; the Premier, Mr. T. R. P,avin; stated the suggestion was quito impossible as a bill before Parliament proposed the abolition of the council, and a new order would be ushered in with the passage of the bill. jjf. Bavin added he had obtained a mandate from the people to abolish the council, and the wishes of tho people would effect to.
