MOTOR-CAR BURNED.

SECOND CASE THIS MONTH. THIRTEENTH SINCE APRIL, Removed on Thursday afternoon from near the Birkenhead Wharf a Buick motorcar belonging to Mr. G. W. Thompson, of Eskdale Road, Birkenhead, was found on fire in Raleigh Road, Northcote, the same evening. The burning car was discovered by Mr. J. S. Tonar and it was saved from complete destruction by the efforts of residents of Raleigh Road. It was insured for £75 with the Atlas Assurance Co., Ltd. The body-work was destroyed. This is the second motor-car stolen and burned this month, and the thirteenth to bo wrecked in this manner since April. The last case of the kind occurred on November 9, when a car which had been removed from the corner of Victoria Avenue and Remuera Road the day before was found burned in Abbot's Way, Remuera, with the tyres removed. s
