CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS.
Sir, —Now the ..Christmas and New. Year's holidays will soon be with us could it not be possible for ail the offices, to close down, as it means one has to. return to the. city for perhaps two days—whichJ spoils the chance of getting away from the city limits—otherwise all the time free would be spent in travelling to and fro. The land agents and lawyers, sharebrokers, etc., always do\ close for the through holiday, so why not the insurance offices, etc? There can be little, if any, business dofte during the holidays, wh'ile'most people are away, and that little could wait over ' Christmas week. Trusting this will be arranged for the benefit of many tied up. in the city offices, who could then return -to their work in earnest, and repay the few. extra days' rest at this festive season, A WJEIXtWXSHER.- •
