THE INCREASE .CONTINUES. REDUCED STOCKS ON HAND. SMALLER CHEESE PRODUCTION. Tho production of dairy produce in the Auckland Province for the current dairying year is still substantially in advance of that of last year. During the fortnight ended on November 16 tho quantities received into the grading stores of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, Ltd., comprised 133,644 boxes of butter and 10,480 crates of cheese, compared with 117,490 boxes of butter and 11,177 crate 3 of cheese for tho corresponding period of 1926. This represents an increase in butter production of a little over 13 per cent, and a decrease of just over 6 per cent, in cheese. Reducing butter and cheese to a butterfat basis for the purpose of an aggregate comparison of dairy production as a wholo, it is seen that receipts into store for the past fortnight equalled 6,921,9511b. of butter-fat, compared with 6,213,6701b. last year—an increase of 11 per cent. Since tho commencement of the season 642,562 bores of butter and 44,049 crates of cheese feavo been received into grading store at Auckland, compared with 539,545 boxes of butter and 44,195 crates of cheese for tho same period of last year. Shipments have kept pace with the increased production. Deliveries during the past fortnight wero 128,914 boxes of butter and 10,179 crates of cheese, compared with 137,614 boxes of butter and 20,259 crates of cheese for tho same two weeks of 1926. For tho season to date releases havo amounted to 715,406 boxes of butter and 42,463 crates of cheese, as against 547,421 boxos of butter and 45,823 crates of cheese. A pleasing result is that stocks of butter on hand aro materially less than tho total in store this time last year—--77,200 boxes, compared with 84,330 boxes. In cheese tho position is reversed, but not to any very material extent. In the stores to-day are 8850 crates, while this time last year 7520 crates' wero held.
