THAMES COUNTY ROADS.
SUBSIDY TO BE GRANTED.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Friday.
At a meeting of the Thames County Council yesterday confirmation of the decision of the Main Highways Board to grant a subsidy of £3 for £1 toward the cost of work on the Coast Road was forwarded by tho Minister of Public Works, Hon K. S. Williams. A resolution of appreciation was accorded the chairman, Mr. H. Lowe, for his efforts in urging the request to the Highways Board.
In connection with a request for £2OO for the Puriri-Nevesville Bond, the resident engineer of the Public Works De partment at Paeroa advised that the council's representations had been noted, and that the whole question of work upon this section of tho road would be favourably considered when the next year's roads estimates were under review.
