CHINESE CIVIL WAR.
VICTORY FOR NORTHERNERS. BEATEN FORCES FIRE CITY. A. and N.Z. SHANGHAI, Oct. 28. Advices from Japanese sources state that Marshal Chang Tso-lin's Northern forces attacked Chichow, a large city in tho Northern part of the Shansi province. The troops rushed into the walled town after having broken down two of tho city gates The invaders met with stubborn resistance from "the Shansi forces. Fierce street fighting ensued, in which the victory rested with the attackers. Many civilians were killed. The defeated troops set fire to the city, which is now reported to be in flames and burning furiously.
